Rainforest Technology Company develops applications that help to minimize the use of paper.
An average sheet of paper has less than 5% chance of containing recycled paper and only a 50% chance of avoiding a landfill or incinerator.
Approximately 300 million tons of paper are produced worldwide annually. The developed world is a disproportionate consumer of paper. Nearly 40 percent of our municipal landfill solid waste stream consists of paper and paperboard. Reducing paper use and eliminating virgin paper is often the easiest step in reducing overall consumption of wood products.
We hope to do a small contribution to the effort to conserve the rainforests and to curb the negative impacts of human involvement through practical web applications.
